Utah GOP Rep. Blake Moore will serve as the co-chair of the newly formed Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency Caucus, or DOGE for short, which will work closely with billionaires Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy on cutting federal spending.
And if you have an idea on how to streamline the federal government, Moore wants to hear from you. The caucus has a tipline, DOGE@mail.house.gov, where anyone can provide insight into how to “best maximize government efficiency and cut excess spending,” according to Moore’s office.
Moore, who sits on both the House Budget and Ways and Means committees, has made federal spending a priority since taking office in 2021. During a debate for Utah’s 1st Congressional District earlier this year, Moore lamented the government’s $1.9 trillion deficit, which is when the government’s spending exceeds its revenues, and the ballooning $36 trillion debt.
Now, as part of the DOGE caucus, Moore will work with the Department of Government Efficiency (also known as DOGE), a proposed committee that will work with President-elect Donald Trump on ways to cut spending, scale back regulations and streamline federal processes.
With the creation of @DOGE, we have a great opportunity to reform our federal systems & root out wasteful spending. I am honored to Co-Chair the DOGE Caucus with @RepAaronBean & @PeteSessions & work alongside @elonmusk, @VivekGRamaswamy, @realDonaldTrump, & our Senate partners to…

The department, headed by Musk and Ramaswamy, is not an arm of the federal government, instead operating as an advisory committee. Ramaswamy, who founded a pharmaceutical company, ran for president this year and suspended his campaign in January 2024. And Musk, the CEO of Tesla and world’s richest man, emerged as a pro-Trump advocate this summer and spent over $250 million helping him get elected, according to The New York Times.
Moore met with both men on Thursday while they visited Congress, talking with lawmakers from both the House and Senate.
In a statement on Friday, Moore said the caucus, and the new department, is a “great opportunity before us to identify areas of government inefficiency, cultivate a solutions-first approach to our challenges, and reform our systems to better steward our resources and serve the American people.”
Moore will be joined by Reps. Aaron Bean, R-FL, and Pete Sessions, R-TX, who will also co-chair the caucus.
After a closed-door meeting on Thursday with both Musk and Ramaswamy, House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, addressed reporters.
“The taxpayers deserve better,” Johnson said. “They deserve a more responsive government, a more efficient government, one that is leaner and more focused on its primary objectives. And that’s the opportunity that we have here now. We believe it’s an historic moment for the country, and these two gentlemen are going to help navigate through this exciting new day.”
