Structure Over Politics: Rep. Ken Ivory on Restoring the State–Federal Balance

Can states help bridge America’s political divide? On this episode of PoliticIt, host Sen. John Johnson welcomes Utah State Representative Ken Ivory to discuss Utah’s National Federalism Initiative and its focus on “structure over politics.”

Ivory explains how leaders across the political spectrum are working to clarify state and federal responsibilities, protect individual rights, and strengthen cooperation. They explore coordination between state and federal law enforcement, forest management and wildfire concerns, and Utah’s work with Utah State University to prepare for potential reductions in federal funding.

It’s a conversation about constitutional responsibilities, bipartisan cooperation, and bringing government closer to the people it serves.
